About Me

Hello there, my name is Lou and I’m simply mad about making stuff. Quilting, sewing, restoring furniture, building cupboards, laying floors. Basically I have to do something creative every day or I feel like I’m losing the plot. If I don’t ‘do’ something I start to get fidgety and just feel like I’ve wasted the day.

Now, don’t get my wrong, I am by no means a domestic goddess, far from it. In fact I am the opposite and get so engrossed in the days ‘project’ that I often forget to feed the family/ iron the shirts/ look up from what I’m doing. Whoops !!

I am married to the long suffering Mr Fox Hollies and we live in our little slice of heaven with our two children, two dogs and two cats. My beautiful mum taught me to sew when I was a child, buying me my first hand crank singer when I was 8 years old. My granny was a seamstress in the war so I guess its in the blood and from an early age I could just make stuff out of my head. I always had the sellotape when it was missing, made things out of cardboard and pipe cleaners and if I saw something i liked, I went home and made it and I’m still like that today.

I renovate and sell furniture for a living but I find it hard to let go of things. I’m a terrible hoarder, incredibly untidy and constantly filling my house up with crap… but its lovely crap I tell my dear husband.

Patchwork, quilting and dressmaking are my ultimate passion and I have many, many UFO’s so the plan is to work through them to share them on my blog. I am also constantly renovating our house so will share that too and throw a bit of furniture in for good measure. Im looking forward to the journey…..
